RCWC's schedule for 2024 is below (as of April 1).  We anticipate adding additional trips or revising trip dates throughout the season. You'll note that sign-up information is not provided. If you're a current member, you already receive a monthly email with details about each trip and how to sign up. If you're not a current member, go to the "Join RCWC" page for more information.

Of course, trips are dependent upon vehicles which can carry gear, qualified guides, reasonable river flows, etc.  To read a descriptions of the run, go to Dreamflows.com. 


March 30: Cache Creek Wilderness run.  At spring run-off flows, Cache Creek is Class II+-III+. 

April 6: South Fork American. Our local Class III river.  Good for paddle boats, oar boats, IKs.  Anticipate high, cold water.

April 13: North Fork American.  Class IV.  For experienced boaters with cold weather gear. 


April 20-21: Swift Water Rescue Class. Sierra Rescue will hold a class just for RCWC members on the South Fork American.

April 27-28: Upper Sacramento (first choice of dates; dependent upon weather and flow).  Class III+ to IV.  Narrow river canyon, fast moving water, lots of rapids, and you can even wave “hi” as a train chugs up the canyon.  Cold water/cold weather gear required.  

May 4-12: Grande Ronde, Oregon.  Beautiful canyon with pine trees, green grass, and volcanic rock formations.  Take-out is on the Salmon River in Idaho.

May 18-19:  Upper Sacramento, second choice.

May 25: Cache Creek, Rumsey run.  Class II, for IK's and small boats.

June 1-2: Merced.  Fun river, lots of waves and excitement.  Class III-IV. 

June 8-9: East Fork Carson.  
Class II-III; overnight camping along river.

July 6-7: Trinity.  Class III, camp along river.

July 13 or 21: South Fork American, Chili Bar run.  Class III.

July 27: Cache Creek Rumsey run.  Perfect for a hot summer day.  Class II+ for IKs and small boats.


August 3: South Fork American

August 18: Lower Middle Fork American
A Class II river that's perfect for IK's on a hot day. 

August 24: South Fork American
.

October 5-6: Pit River. 
Class III-IV, for small boats. This river is only runnable a few days a year, when the power company releases enough water for boaters.


October 20-22 (plus driving days): Rogue River Lodge trip. Class III.  Stay at Black Bar Lodge on the first night and at Paradise Lodge on the second night.  

November 3 (Sunday):  Workday at the warehouse
